Rainbows and Unicorns
It's not always Rainbows and Unicorns
Fitness is not a straight line. In my experience not every one feels 100% every day or 100% motivated every day. So what do you do? You do your best. Fitness and achieving it then maintaining it and setting new goals is not an easy road for every one. We are presented with obstacles, tests, setbacks, etc. It's how we plan for them and deal with them is what matters. Life can sometimes "get in the way" of our goals. It's important you have a plan b in place
and also know that not every workout is going to feel like you are winning the gold at the Olympics either. Take today for example, I planned a nice 5 km recovery run that turned out to be the slowest run I have had in probably the last 12 months. BUT it's not always Rainbows and Unicorns right? Every run isn't always perfect or awesome or the best! This one certainly wasn't. It wasn't a bad run, I am always grateful simply to be able to run. Today however I had the lowest energy on a run that I have had in a really long time and really struggled but every seemingly "bad" workout teaches us something. It's important we reflect on the workouts that feel "less than awesome" and discover what it was that made them that way. Let's learn from them. They teach us things about ourselves maybe about our nutrition or our intensity or recovery plans. And it's important to note that all workouts matter, they all count, the good, and the "bad", they all add up and contribute to your goals. Keep on pushing forward and my best advice is always do your best with what you have to work with. If you are feeling less than 100% simply do your best with whatever % you feel. If you can always know you did your best then you will always be moving forward towards your goals.
